Zoektocht naar thuis (Quest for a home) is a project about the absence of a home.Because of divorced parents I have spend a big part of my childhood moving houses and constantly moving back and forth between my parents. I realized I had never really felt at home. I never quite took the time to make a place feel like home, because I knew I would only live there temporarily. By the age of just eighteen I had moved houses nine times.
The grounded calm feeling of home was something I was longing for, so I went back, with an analog camera in my hand, to all the places I once called home. I photographed all the houses and their surroundings. With every picture more memories and feelings came back and eventually, I found the place where I felt the most grounded and calm, I found home.
